Te mapa
’Aïn Deheb lies in Tiaret Province, south of the city of Tiaret, on the high plateaus that stretch between the Tell Atlas and the Saharan Atlas. The landscape here is broad and open, and on a map the town reads as a defined cluster within a wide expanse, with roads running out across the steppe toward neighbouring settlements.
The name combines the Arabic words for spring and gold, pointing to the value of water in a dry landscape. The region is largely pastoral, long associated with sheep grazing and with cereal farming where conditions allow, and the land use around the town reflects that balance between open range and cultivated plots.
An ’Aïn Deheb map poster shows a plateau town with a largely regular street pattern: straight streets, even blocks and a centre where the main roads converge. The simplicity of the surroundings makes the street pattern itself the subject of the map, a design that holds up well in plain black and white.
Open country surrounds the town on all sides, so the built-up area stands out as a clear, compact shape against a nearly empty background.
Much of the town is laid out in straight streets and even blocks, giving the map a tidy, measured texture that reads well at every print size.
Roads leave the town in several directions across the plateau, linking it with Tiaret to the north and with other towns of the high plains.
