Al Ḩāmūl lies in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate, in the northern Nile Delta. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets set among flat, intensively farmed land. Irrigation canals and drainage channels cross the landscape in long lines, dividing the fields into narrow plots.
