Te mapa
Albany stands on the Willamette River where the smaller Calapooia River joins it, in the middle of Oregon's Willamette Valley. From above, the downtown grid sits on the south bank, pressed against the river's curve. The Calapooia enters from the south and cuts a winding line through the western neighbourhoods. North Albany spreads across the water, on the Benton County side.
The town is the seat of Linn County and is known for its historic districts. The old residential streets hold one of Oregon's largest collections of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century houses, many of them Victorian. On a map, these areas appear as a fine, even grid of small blocks near the river. Newer subdivisions to the east and south are looser and more curved.
Interstate 5 runs along the eastern side of the city and forms a clear diagonal on the page. An Albany map poster brings together the two rivers, the historic grid and the valley farmland at the edges. It gives a balanced portrait of a mid-valley Oregon town.
The Calapooia joins the Willamette beside downtown. This confluence gives the composition its natural focal point and a pair of contrasting water lines.
Near the river, small blocks of older houses form a tight, regular grid. It is the oldest and most detailed part of the map.
The interstate cuts along the city's eastern side. It is a strong line that separates the town from the open valley farmland beyond.

Koteā ko Albany
Albany makes a good gift for someone who grew up in the mid-valley, restored an old house there, or simply loves the Willamette. The two rivers give the map a shape that people recognise at a glance.
You can change the title and subtitle, perhaps to a street name or a move-in date, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
