Te mapa
Angren lies in the valley of the Angren River in Tashkent Region, east of the capital, where the plains give way to the western spurs of the Tien Shan. It developed in the twentieth century around large deposits of brown coal. Its map reflects that planned industrial origin, with separate residential districts, broad avenues and mining areas set out across the valley floor.
The city is a gateway to the Fergana Valley. The railway through the Kamchik Pass, which opened in 2016 and includes a long tunnel under the mountains, links Angren directly with the Fergana region. The surrounding mountains and reservoirs make the area a destination for walkers and summer visitors from Tashkent.
An Angren map poster shows a city defined by its valley. The river runs along its length, the residential areas are arranged in orderly blocks, and open-pit mining land and mountain slopes close in around them. The composition has a strong sense of direction, following the valley from the plains up toward the pass.
The river flows along the valley floor, and the city stretches along its course. It sets the long, directional shape of the whole map.
Residential areas built in the Soviet period form regular blocks with wide avenues, giving the city a clear, structured pattern.
Open-pit coal workings and industrial sites around the city create large, irregular areas that contrast with the tidy residential grid.
