Te mapa
Antioch lies on the south bank of the San Joaquin River in eastern Contra Costa County, where the river widens toward the Delta and San Francisco Bay. On a map the older downtown hugs the waterfront. Newer neighbourhoods extend south over rolling hills in long curving streets and cul-de-sacs toward the slopes of Mount Diablo.
One of California's older towns, Antioch grew up around river trade and later industry. Coal was once mined in the hills to the south, now part of Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. State Route 4 crosses the city from west to east, and the Antioch Bridge spans the river to the north, linking the city to the Delta islands.
An Antioch map poster sets the broad San Joaquin and its islands against the dense suburban pattern to the south. The waterfront, the highway corridor and the open hills at the southern edge make for a clear, layered composition that is both urban and surprisingly natural.
The river forms the northern edge of the city, wide and slow as it nears the Bay, with the historic downtown and the marina set along its bank.
The bridge crosses the San Joaquin to Sherman Island, drawing a long straight line north over water and flat Delta land.
Neighbourhoods south of State Route 4 climb into rolling hills, where curving streets end at open grassland near the foot of Mount Diablo.

Koteā ko Antioch
For many Bay Area families, Antioch is where they found room to grow, and for long-time residents the river is the one constant. A map poster brings the waterfront, the hills and the streets of home together in one clean view.
You can personalise the title and subtitle with a street name, a year or a family name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. One $9 purchase gets you six print sizes, or you can order a finished print.
