Te mapa
Arzano lies just north of Naples, in the densely built plain that spreads inland from the Bay of Naples. On a map it is hard to tell where the town ends. Its streets run straight into those of neighbouring municipalities, forming one continuous urban fabric with almost no open land between them.
The layout mixes an older centre with close-set streets and later housing blocks and roads built as the Naples metropolitan area grew in the twentieth century. Main roads and motorway links cross the area and tie Arzano into the network that carries traffic to and from the city.
An Arzano map poster works because of that density. Black lines fill almost the whole frame, broken only by the occasional courtyard, yard or open lot. The result is a strong, graphic image of life in the Neapolitan hinterland, where towns meet without a gap.
Built-up blocks run without interruption into the surrounding towns, so the map shows a single dense urban field instead of an isolated settlement.
Near the middle, narrower and less regular streets mark the older core, which predates the modern expansion that now surrounds it.
Wide roads and motorway links cut through the dense grain and connect Arzano to Naples and to the other towns of the northern plain.
