Aspen Map Poster & Print

Aspen is a mountain town in Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley, founded as a silver-mining camp in the late 1870s. After the silver crash of 1893, it declined for decades before being reborn as a ski resort and cultural centre in the twentieth century. Today, four ski areas are within reach: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass.

On a map, the town is a compact grid of straight streets laid out in the mining era. Aspen Mountain rises directly to the south, with lifts leaving from the edge of downtown. The Roaring Fork River curves along the northern side of the town, and Castle Creek flows in from the south and west, joining it nearby.

An Aspen map poster brings together the regular grid, the river and the steep ski slopes in one frame. The contrast between the flat, orderly town and the surrounding mountains gives the print a strong sense of place. It is a clean, structured image for a town known for both skiing and summer culture.
