Te mapa
Beni Douala lies in the hills of Kabylie, south of Tizi Ouzou, in a landscape of steep ridges and narrow valleys. Rather than a single dense town, the commune is made up of villages perched along the crests, a settlement pattern typical of the region. On a map, roads snake from one hilltop to the next, and the built-up areas form strings of beads along the ridges.
Between the villages, the slopes hold olive and fig groves and patches of woodland, crossed by footpaths and small roads. On clear days the Djurdjura range can be seen in the distance. Beni Douala is also known as the home of the singer Matoub Lounès, born in the village of Taourirt Moussa, a figure of great importance in Kabyle culture.
A Beni Douala map poster is a meaningful piece for Kabyle families in Algeria and abroad, many of whom keep strong ties with their home villages. The drawing is unusual and expressive: curving ridge roads, scattered clusters of houses and wide gaps where the land drops into valleys, a map that feels like the landscape itself.
Settlements sit along hilltops and crests, forming compact clusters linked by roads, a pattern that gives the map a scattered, rhythmic character.
Roads twist along the contours and between villages, drawn as long, curving lines that trace the shape of the hills more clearly than a relief map.
Deep valleys between the ridges appear as open space, with olive groves and woodland leaving only thin paths and tracks on the map.

Koteā ko Beni Douala
For Kabyle families, the village is a lasting anchor, and Beni Douala carries deep memories for many who now live in Algiers, France or Canada. A map poster keeps those hills and roads close, a quiet link to home.
Write the title in your own words, perhaps the name of your village, and add a subtitle and coordinates line. Choose from five styles, including Noir and Paper. Download HD files for $9, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
