Bevere Map Poster & Print
Bevere is a part of Oudenaarde in East Flanders, on the western side of the town. On a map it sits between the Scheldt valley and the gently rising ground of the Flemish Ardennes. Older village streets gather around a small centre, and newer residential streets spread out between them.
The pattern mixes village and suburb. Old roads follow the contours toward neighbouring villages, while short residential streets and small estates fill the spaces in between. Toward the east the houses merge with Oudenaarde itself. To the west and south, fields, hedgerows and small woods take over, and the land begins to rise.
Oudenaarde is known for its tapestry tradition, for the Battle of Oudenaarde in 1708 and for its central role in the Tour of Flanders cycling race, whose steep, cobbled hills lie nearby.
