Te mapa
Biyalā is a town in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate, in the northern Nile Delta of Egypt. The land here is entirely flat and intensively farmed, and from above it looks like a finely cut mosaic. The town forms a compact, irregular cluster of streets, with the tight pattern typical of Delta settlements that grew over time rather than to a plan.
Canals are the key structural lines on the map. They run through and around the town, feeding the irrigation network that divides the surrounding fields into narrow plots. Roads often follow the canal banks, so water and traffic lines run side by side. Beyond the edge of town, villages appear as small, dense clusters spaced across the green plain.
A Biyalā map poster captures this intricate, human-made landscape. The irregular core contrasts with the straight canals, and the fine texture of the Delta fields fills the frame. In Sand or Paper, the drawing takes on a warm, almost archival quality that suits a place shaped by centuries of farming.
Irrigation canals run through and around the town, with roads following their banks, forming the main straight lines in an otherwise intricate map.
The older centre is a tight, irregular cluster of narrow streets, grown gradually over time rather than laid out on a single grid.
Around the town, small compact villages are spaced across the flat farmland, each one a dense knot of streets in the open fields.

Koteā ko Biyalā
Many families from Kafr el-Sheikh now live in Cairo, Alexandria or abroad, and a map of Biyalā keeps the home town present in a modern, understated way. It suits living rooms and studies alike.
The poster can be personalised with a title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance a family name and a year. It comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as HD files for $9 or as a printed poster.
