Blagnac lies just northwest of Toulouse, on the left bank of the Garonne. It is best known as the home of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport and as a centre of the European aerospace industry. Airbus has major assembly facilities here, and the vast halls built for the A380 are among the largest industrial buildings in France.
That identity dominates the map. Long runways and taxiways cut across the western side of the commune, and huge rectangular footprints mark factories and hangars. East of the airport the older village centre sits near the river, with residential streets spreading out around it. The Garonne and its wooded banks form a soft, curving boundary on the east.
