Te mapa
Blankenberge lies on the Belgian coast, between Ostend and Zeebrugge, and the map is shaped by the sea. The shoreline runs in a nearly straight line, and behind it the seafront promenade, the Zeedijk, follows the beach for its entire length. Behind that, a compact grid of streets fills the town, with the coastal tram running parallel to the shore.
The most distinctive feature on the map is the pier, which extends out from the promenade into the sea. It is the only surviving pier on the Belgian coast, rebuilt in Art Deco style in the 1930s. To one side, the harbour and marina form a sheltered basin with enclosing breakwaters, a clear geometric shape against the open water.
A Blankenberge map poster presents this coastal geometry clearly: the straight beachfront, the pier reaching into the North Sea and the harbour basin beside the town. It is a natural choice for anyone who has spent summers on this coast.
