Bradford Map Poster & Print
Bradford sits in a natural bowl, and its street plan follows the hills. The centre is in the valley bottom, where Bradford Beck once ran in the open before it was covered over. Roads climb steeply out in every direction, and terraces are stacked along the contours. On the map the streets bend and curve with the landscape, not with a planner's grid.
In the nineteenth century Bradford was a world centre of the wool trade. Merchants built the warehouses of Little Germany, and to the north Titus Salt built the model village of Saltaire, now a World Heritage Site. In 2025 the city was UK City of Culture.
A Bradford map poster shows the regular squares of the city centre, including City Park and its large mirror pool, against the tightly packed terraces on the hillsides. Toward the edges of the district, moorland and open fields press in close.
