Te mapa
Brossard sits on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River, directly across from Montreal. From above, the city is unmistakably planned. It is made of residential sectors full of curving streets, crescents and cul-de-sacs, bounded by straight arterial roads and highways. The river and the Champlain Bridge approach mark its western edge.
The city has an unusual system for its street names. Brossard is divided into lettered sectors, and within many of them the street names begin with the same letter as the sector. It also holds the large Quartier DIX30 retail district. The REM light rail now links Brossard to downtown Montreal across the new Samuel De Champlain Bridge.
A Brossard map poster turns suburban planning into a surprisingly graphic image. The looping streets of each sector look almost like fingerprints, separated by the clean lines of the main roads. With the river along one side, the composition has a clear anchor and a strong sense of place.

Crescents, loops and cul-de-sacs fill each sector, forming organic patterns that contrast with the straight highways around them.
The St. Lawrence and the Samuel De Champlain Bridge approach define the western edge and link Brossard visually to Montreal.
