Te mapa
Canby is a small city in Clackamas County, in the northern Willamette Valley south of Portland. The Willamette River runs along its northern edge, and the Molalla River joins it a short way to the west. Between them lies flat, fertile ground, and the town has laid a neat street grid across it.
A rail line cuts through the grid at an angle, and Highway 99E runs alongside it. That diagonal is the most distinctive feature of the map. North of town, the small Canby Ferry still carries cars across the Willamette, one of the few river ferries left in Oregon. The Clackamas County Fair is held here every summer.
A Canby map poster captures a clear valley composition: a rectangular town, a railway slicing through it, and rivers curving along the edges. Beyond the city limits, the lines open out into farm roads and the large rectangles of nurseries and fields.
The railway and Highway 99E run at an angle through the centre of town, cutting across the otherwise regular blocks.
A short ferry route across the Willamette links the town's north side to the opposite bank. On the map it shows as a road that simply stops at the water.
The Willamette to the north and the Molalla to the west give Canby soft natural boundaries, lined with trees and low bottomland.

Koteā ko Canby
Canby works well on a wall because it is easy to read at a glance: a grid, a railway and two rivers. Families with roots in the valley and people who moved here for a quieter life both recognise it straight away.
Personalise the title and subtitle, for example with a street address or a moving-in date. Classic black & white suits the clean grid, and Blueprint gives it a crisp, surveyed look.
