Te mapa
Concarneau sits on the south coast of Finistère in Brittany, where a sheltered harbour opens onto the Baie de la Forêt. Its map is unmistakable: the Ville Close, a small fortified town, occupies an island in the middle of the harbour, ringed by ramparts and joined to the mainland by a short bridge. Around it, quays, docks and boatyards line the water in long, working edges.
The modern town spreads out from the port in several directions, with streets climbing gently inland and residential areas reaching along the coast toward beaches and headlands. A Concarneau map poster shows the harbour as a sequence of basins and channels, the island citadel as a tight, enclosed shape, and the coast beyond breaking into coves and points.
Concarneau has long been one of France's major fishing ports, historically known for tuna, and its maritime identity is visible everywhere on the map. The town also hosts the Fête des Filets Bleus each summer, a festival of Breton music and dress with roots going back more than a century.
A walled old town fills an island inside the harbour, its ramparts forming a compact, irregular outline that is instantly recognisable from above.
Quays, fishing docks and marina pontoons divide the port into distinct basins, drawing a complex, angular edge between town and water.
Beyond the port the shore bends into small beaches and rocky points along the Baie de la Forêt, giving the map a lively maritime border.

Concarneau appeals to anyone who has spent a summer on the Breton coast, walked the ramparts of the Ville Close or watched boats come into the harbour. The island citadel makes the map a strong, readable image.
