Te mapa
Cruz del Eje lies in the northwest of Córdoba province, Argentina, in a dry valley west of the Sierras de Córdoba. The town has a regular grid of blocks, typical of Argentine towns, and the river that shares its name flows past it. Irrigation canals and farm plots surround the urban area, and the land beyond turns to scrub and low hills.
The region is known for olive growing, and Cruz del Eje has long called itself the national capital of the olive. Its groves depend on water from the Cruz del Eje dam and reservoir just outside the town, which regulates the river and supplies irrigation. The railway also played a major part in the town's development and left behind large yards and workshops.
A Cruz del Eje map poster sets the precise grid of the town against the river, the reservoir and the lines of irrigated land. The result is orderly yet shaped by water, a clear picture of how agriculture and infrastructure made a town in an otherwise dry landscape.
The centre follows a regular pattern of square blocks around a main plaza, the classic layout of Argentine towns. On the poster it forms a neat, dense core.
The Cruz del Eje River runs past town from the reservoir upstream. The water shapes add curves and a large open area that contrast with the straight streets.
Canals and field boundaries around the town reflect the olive groves that define the local economy. They form fine, regular lines across the surrounding land.

For cordobeses from the northwest of the province and families with ties to the olive groves or the railway, Cruz del Eje carries personal meaning. A map of the town is an understated way to keep that connection at home.
