Te mapa
Dilbeek lies just west of Brussels in Flemish Brabant, where the city's dense fabric starts to loosen into the countryside of the Pajottenland. The municipality combines several former villages, including Groot-Bijgaarden, Itterbeek and Schepdaal, and on a map it looks like a cluster of small centres linked by roads across gently rolling land.
The terrain is hillier than many people expect, with small valleys and wooded patches between the neighbourhoods. The town hall is housed in the Castle de Viron, set in a public park with ponds, and the nearby Wolfsputten woods add another green area to the map. Groot-Bijgaarden also has its own historic castle.
A Dilbeek map poster shows the meeting point of metropolitan Brussels and rural Flanders. On the eastern side the streets are tight and urban, while further west they spread out, curve around slopes and open onto fields. The Brussels ring motorway passes through the area, cutting a smooth arc across the grain.
The town hall sits in the grounds of a nineteenth-century castle surrounded by a landscaped park with water features, a soft open space near the heart of the municipality.
Former villages such as Groot-Bijgaarden and Schepdaal each have their own small centre, giving the map several distinct clusters rather than one dominant downtown.
The Brussels ring road sweeps through the area in a long curve, a smooth line that contrasts with the irregular local streets around it.

Koteā ko Dilbeek
Dilbeek suits people who live near Brussels but prefer a greener home, and anyone who grew up among its parks and villages. The map shows both the urban edge and the countryside beyond.
