Te mapa
Dingzhou is a county-level city in Hebei, lying on the open North China Plain between Shijiazhuang and Baoding. The land is almost entirely flat, and the city spreads across it in a clear, rectilinear pattern, with long straight roads, broad blocks and a railway running north to south. Beyond the edges, farmland reaches in every direction, criss-crossed by rural roads.
Dingzhou was an important prefectural seat for centuries. Its best-known landmark is the Liaodi Pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple, completed in the Song dynasty and often described as the tallest surviving brick pagoda in China. The celebrated Ding ware porcelain of the Song period takes its name from the old prefecture, although its kilns lay in present-day Quyang County.
A Dingzhou map poster reflects the order of a plains city. The centre reads as a dense, even pattern with the old town at its heart, wide avenues run straight to the edges, and the surrounding fields turn into a pale, finely divided texture. It is a composition built on straight lines, which gives it a calm, architectural quality on the wall.
The historic centre, where the pagoda stands, forms the densest part of the map. Its compact blocks recall the city's long history as a regional seat on the plain.
Main roads run in long straight lines across level ground, dividing the city into large rectangular districts that give the map its disciplined structure.
The countryside around the city is laid out in fields and village roads, creating a fine pattern that surrounds the urban area like a textured border.

Koteā ko Dingzhou
Dingzhou suits people from the city, students of Chinese history and collectors of Song ceramics who know the name from Ding ware. It is a map with a story beneath its lines, rather than a purely decorative print.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles; Paper and Sand bring a warmer tone that suits an old city. Digital files come in six print sizes, and printed posters ship on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
