Te mapa
Dollard-Des Ormeaux is a residential city on the western part of the Island of Montreal. It belongs to the area locals call the West Island. Unlike Montreal's older grid, much of it was laid out in the postwar decades, and the map shows it: curving streets, crescents and cul-de-sacs that loop back on themselves. Between them sit a few straight arterial roads that carry traffic across the island.
The city takes its name from Adam Dollard des Ormeaux, a seventeenth-century figure of New France remembered for the 1660 fight at Long Sault. In modern times it was merged into Montreal in 2002. Residents then voted to reconstitute it, and it became an independent municipality again in 2006. Today it is mostly quiet streets, schools and green space.
A Dollard-Des Ormeaux map poster turns that suburban plan into an unexpectedly graphic image. The loops and dead ends form patterns like fingerprints, and the long arterial roads cut through them in straight lines. Centennial Park adds an open area with water at its heart, a natural focal point in the composition.

Residential streets curve and close into cul-de-sacs, creating the dense, organic line patterns typical of postwar West Island neighbourhoods.
A handful of long, straight roads cross the city and link it to neighbouring West Island municipalities, framing the looping streets between them.

Koteā ko Dollard-Des Ormeaux
For many families Dollard-Des Ormeaux is where a first house was bought or children grew up. A map of those looping streets is a quiet, personal reminder of a street name, a park walk or a school route.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, perhaps with your street or the year you moved in. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
