Te mapa
Duncanville is a suburban city in Dallas County, southwest of downtown Dallas, in the gently rolling country of North Texas. Its map is almost entirely residential, with curving streets, loops and cul-de-sacs set within a larger framework of straight arterial roads. Commercial strips run along the main roads, and schools and parks form open patches among the neighbourhoods.
Major highways give the city firm edges. Interstate 20 crosses its northern part and U.S. Highway 67 runs along the east, linking Duncanville with Dallas and the suburbs to the south. The city began as a railroad stop in the late nineteenth century and grew quickly after the Second World War. It is also widely known for its high school basketball program.
A Duncanville map poster presents a classic Texas suburb as a pattern of winding residential streets nested inside a firm frame of arterials and highways. The contrast between curved and straight lines gives the composition energy. At larger sizes individual neighbourhoods become recognisable shapes, each with its own loops and dead ends.

Interstate 20 and U.S. 67 form strong lines along the edges of the city and clearly separate Duncanville from its neighbours on the map.
Straight main roads divide the city into large blocks, each filled with its own pattern of residential streets, schools and parks.
