Te mapa
El Segundo sits on the coast of Los Angeles County, directly south of Los Angeles International Airport. Its name, meaning the second, comes from Standard Oil's second California refinery, built here in the early twentieth century. The refinery, now operated by Chevron, still covers much of the southern and western part of the city.
On a map El Segundo is sharply defined. The runways of LAX form a hard northern edge, the refinery occupies a large block by the ocean, and the residential grid, a neat pattern of short streets around a small downtown, sits in between. The eastern side is filled with office campuses and aerospace facilities, a long-standing local industry.
An El Segundo map poster shows a surprising amount of structure for such a small city. Straight runways, large industrial blocks, a compact grid and the clean shoreline of the Pacific come together in a precise, graphic layout. It suits anyone who lives in the small town that sits between the airport and the sea.

El Segundo takes its name from Standard Oil's second California refinery, which still covers a large area near the beach.
Between airport and refinery lies a compact residential grid of short streets around a small downtown, with the Pacific shore just west.

Koteā ko El Segundo
El Segundo is an unexpectedly close-knit town on the edge of a huge metropolis, and residents are proud of that. A map of its grid, runways and shoreline makes a crisp, distinctive print for home or office.
