Te mapa
Eldorado is a city in the Argentine province of Misiones. Its port is on the Paraná River, which forms the border with Paraguay. Its most unusual feature is its shape. Rather than growing around one central square, the town stretches for many kilometres inland from the river along a main road, and its districts are traditionally known by their distance in kilometres.
The town was founded in 1919 as an agricultural colony, and many of its early settlers came from Europe, especially German-speaking countries. The surrounding land is known for red soil, yerba mate, tea and forestry plantations. Streams run down through wooded valleys toward the Paraná.
An Eldorado map poster makes the most of that rare linear form. A long band of streets reaches from the river across the sheet, and side roads branch off it like the teeth of a comb. The broad Paraná closes one end of the composition.
The town is strung out along a main road running inland from the river. Its districts are named by kilometre, and together they form a long, continuous band across the map.
At the river end, the old port meets the wide Paraná. Paraguay lies across the water, and the edge of the river is broad and strong.
Streams cut through green valleys between the built-up strips. They add soft, winding lines to the town's otherwise straight structure.

Koteā ko Eldorado
Eldorado's layout is unlike any other town, and its residents know their place by the kilometre. That makes the map especially personal for anyone who grew up there or whose family helped settle the colony.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the kilometre of your old home. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
