Te mapa
Federal Way lies about halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, and its map is organised around roads. Interstate 5 runs north to south through the city, and Pacific Highway, the old federal route that gave the area its name, runs parallel to it. Most of the commercial areas line these two roads.
West of the highways, the land drops toward Puget Sound. The city has a stretch of wooded shoreline there, including Dash Point, and residential streets wind through the forested slopes. The streets here curve and branch into cul-de-sacs, a typical Pacific Northwest suburban pattern.
Small lakes are scattered across the city, each surrounded by houses and trees. The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is also located here. Federal Way became a city only in 1990. A Federal Way map poster shows a young city set among water, forest and roads.
Interstate 5 and Pacific Highway run side by side from north to south. They give the city its strongest lines and hold most of its commercial activity.
On the west side, wooded slopes lead down to the saltwater shoreline around Dash Point. The coastline gives the map a natural edge.
Small lakes are set among the neighbourhoods. On the map they appear as open shapes surrounded by curving residential streets.

Koteā ko Federal Way
Federal Way suits families who settled between the two big cities of Puget Sound, and anyone who likes the combination of forest and water. The mix of lakes, shoreline and winding streets gives the print plenty of detail.
Put a family name or a year in the title and keep the coordinates. The styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the Northwest's cool tones.
