Repeating block grid
Short residential streets run between the larger avenues at steady intervals, which produces a fine, even texture across the whole frame.

Te mapa
Florence-Graham is an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County, a few miles south of downtown Los Angeles. On a map it is almost pure grid. Residential blocks repeat in tidy rows, broken at regular intervals by the wider commercial boulevards that run across this part of the basin.
The eastern side is marked by the industrial rail corridor that carries freight between the ports and the city, and it appears as a long, straight seam through the street pattern. The ground is flat, and there are no hills, rivers or coastline to bend the lines. As a result the composition is geometric and rhythmic, close to a textile pattern.
That regularity is the point of a Florence-Graham map poster. It records a working neighbourhood of small lots and long avenues, one of the many communities that make up the continuous street fabric of South Los Angeles. People who know these blocks will be able to trace their route home on it.
Short residential streets run between the larger avenues at steady intervals, which produces a fine, even texture across the whole frame.
A long freight line and the industrial land beside it cut a straight band through the eastern side of the community.
Wide east–west commercial streets divide the grid into clear bands, and they are the easiest landmarks to pick out on the print.

Koteā ko Florence-Graham
This is a poster for people who grew up here, whose family still lives on these blocks, or who simply like the graphic quality of a Los Angeles grid. Its message is about home more than sightseeing.
You can personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a street or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the geometry especially well.
