Te mapa
Flowing Wells is a census-designated community in Pima County, Arizona, just northwest of central Tucson. It sits within the wide, flat Sonoran Desert basin, and its map follows the Tucson area's typical mile-grid layout, with long straight arterial roads enclosing smaller residential blocks.
The community is framed by major corridors, with Interstate 10 and the Santa Cruz River channel running along its western side. The riverbed, dry for most of the year, appears as a broad band on the map, while railway lines and industrial parcels add larger shapes among the neighbourhood streets.
The name recalls the area's historic reliance on groundwater wells, and the local school district still carries it. A Flowing Wells map poster shows this ordered desert grid in clean lines, with the river corridor and freeway giving the composition a strong edge.
Straight arterial roads divide the area into large squares, typical of Tucson, with residential streets and mobile home parks filling the blocks between them.
The mostly dry channel of the Santa Cruz River runs along the western side, forming a wide linear feature alongside the interstate and rail lines.
The community sits on the flat floor of the Tucson basin, where the lack of steep terrain lets the street grid run uninterrupted for long distances.
