Te mapa
Gronau lies at the north-western edge of North Rhine-Westphalia, right on the border with the Netherlands. On a map, the border is almost invisible: Gronau's streets continue straight into the Dutch city of Enschede and the neighbourhood of Glanerbrug. The Dinkel river flows through the town, its gentle curve crossing the grid of streets and parks.
For more than a century, Gronau was a centre of textile manufacturing, and large spinning mills shaped its layout and its skyline. When the industry declined, many of these sites were redeveloped. The rock'n'popmuseum now occupies part of a former mill. Parks and open spaces along the Dinkel form a green corridor through the town.
Gronau is also the birthplace of the singer Udo Lindenberg, who has kept close ties with the town. A Gronau map poster shows the town and its cross-border setting, with the Dinkel winding through the middle and the streets flowing across a line that exists only on paper. It is a map of two countries in one frame.
The town merges directly with Glanerbrug and Enschede on the Dutch side. On the map, the streets continue seamlessly across the border.
The small river curves gently through the town, lined with parks and green space. It gives a soft, winding line to an otherwise regular street pattern.
The large sites of old textile mills are still visible in the layout. Some have become museums, parks and new districts.

Koteā ko Gronau
For people from the Münsterland border region, and for music lovers who know Gronau through the rock'n'popmuseum or Udo Lindenberg, this map is personal. The border that isn't there makes it quietly interesting.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a date or a message. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
