Te mapa
Halle lies in Flemish Brabant, close to the language border and a short train ride from Brussels. On a map, the old centre forms a compact knot of streets around the Grote Markt and the Basilica of Saint Martin, while the Brussels–Charleroi Canal and the railway run in parallel lines through the town, dividing it into distinct parts.
The Gothic basilica houses a Black Madonna that has drawn pilgrims for centuries, and Halle's carnival is one of the best known in Flanders. Beyond the centre, residential streets fan out over gentle hills, with the Hallerbos forest to the southeast, famous each spring for its dense carpets of wild bluebells.
A Halle map poster captures a small Flemish town at a meeting point of water, rail and pilgrimage. The straight canal and track lines contrast with the medieval street pattern, and a wider frame can include the edge of the forest, turning a familiar commuter town into a carefully balanced image.
The Brussels–Charleroi Canal cuts straight through town beside the older course of the Senne, two water lines with very different characters.
The medieval centre gathers around the basilica and market square, a dense cluster of short streets at the heart of the map.
The beech forest southeast of town appears as a large quiet area crossed by winding paths, giving the composition a soft, open edge.
