Te mapa
Idar is a town in Sabarkantha district, in northeastern Gujarat, at the edge of the Aravalli foothills. It was once the seat of the princely state of Idar. Its most striking feature is the ring of rocky granite hills rising right behind the town, crowned by the old Idariya Gadh fort. The town is also known for its traditional lacquered wooden toys.
On a map, the older town is a dense weave of narrow lanes packed against the base of the hills, while newer areas and main roads spread across the flatter land beyond. The hills themselves appear as open, irregular spaces with paths climbing toward the top. Idar is a compact town with a very clear edge, defined as much by rock as by streets.
An Idar map poster captures that dramatic contrast in a calm, graphic way. It is a fine choice for people from the town and district, for families who trace their roots to the former state, and for anyone who likes maps where natural landforms press right up against the grain of an old town.
The hilltop fort rises above the town on a granite ridge. The paths and steps climbing toward it trace a winding route that stands out against the dense lanes below.
At the foot of the hills, the historic core is a tight mesh of narrow streets and small squares, the darkest and most detailed part of the map.
Bare rocky hills rise along one side of the town. On the poster they appear as open, irregular shapes that give Idar its distinctive outline from above.
