Te mapa
Jais is a town in Uttar Pradesh, set on the broad, level plain that stretches across the north of India. On a map it appears as a concentrated knot of lanes and houses, with roads radiating outward through agricultural land toward neighbouring villages and larger towns in the region.
The town holds a notable place in Indian literary history. It is associated with Malik Muhammad Jayasi, the sixteenth-century Sufi poet whose name derives from Jais and who composed the epic poem Padmavat in the Awadhi language. For many readers, the town's name is known first through him.
A Jais map poster shows a settlement shaped by long habitation rather than by planning. Narrow, irregular lanes crowd the centre, while a few main roads stretch out across the plain in straighter lines. The result is an intricate, organic pattern that looks especially fine in the finer detail of the larger print sizes.
The centre is a close mesh of short, irregular lanes, the kind of pattern that forms over centuries as homes and courtyards are built up side by side.
A handful of main roads lead out of town in long, straighter lines across flat farmland, linking Jais to surrounding villages and district centres.
The poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi, author of Padmavat, took his name from Jais, giving this modest town a lasting place in the literature of northern India.

Koteā ko Jais
For families with roots in Jais or readers who love Jayasi's poetry, the map is a meaningful keepsake. Its dense, hand-drawn quality of lanes works as both a personal reminder and an elegant piece of graphic art.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, so you might add a family name or a special date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download HD files or order a matte print with an optional frame.
