Te mapa
Jumet is a district of Charleroi, in the Walloon province of Hainaut, north of the city centre. On a map, it forms part of a continuous urban area shaped by the coal and industrial history of the region. Streets of terraced houses run in long lines, sometimes interrupted by large open spaces where mines and factories once stood.
The legacy of mining is still visible in the landscape. Slag heaps, many now overgrown, rise among the houses and appear on the map as distinctive rounded shapes. Jumet is also known for the Marche de la Madeleine. This traditional procession is part of the folkloric marches of Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse, which were recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
A Jumet map poster captures the dense, working-class fabric of a former industrial district. The long rows of streets create a strong pattern, and the slag heaps and former industrial sites break it up with larger shapes. The result is a map that carries its history in its layout.

Former mining spoil heaps rise among the houses, many now covered in vegetation. They appear on the map as distinctive rounded shapes.
Large open spaces and former factory sites mark the district's industrial past. They break up the residential grid with bigger forms.

Koteā ko Jumet
Jumet is a place of family history for many people with roots in the Charleroi mining region. A map poster keeps its streets and slag heaps in view as a reminder of where they came from.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a date or a French phrase. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
