Te mapa
Kakamega is the main town of Kakamega County in western Kenya, a high, well-watered region between Lake Victoria and the Mount Elgon area. The population figure covers the wider county; the town itself is compact, gathered around a central market and a few principal roads that fan out through farmland, small settlements and patches of woodland.
Northeast of the town lies Kakamega Forest, usually described as Kenya's only tropical rainforest and an eastern remnant of the forest belt that once stretched across Central Africa. On a map it appears as an irregular area where the road network thins out, bordered by the fields and homesteads of one of the country's most densely farmed regions.
The area saw a gold rush in the early 1930s, and small-scale mining has continued around it since. Today the town is a regional centre for education, trade and farming, including sugarcane. A Kakamega map poster keeps the view simple and honest: the town centre, the roads leading out of it, and the rural pattern spread across the hills around them.
The main roads converge on the centre and then spread outward, giving the map a clear hub from which smaller lanes branch off toward nearby villages and farms.
The rainforest shows up as an uneven, lightly marked area to the northeast, where tracks are sparse and the dense farm pattern gives way to woodland.
Around the town, short roads and paths trace a fine, scattered pattern across the hills, a reminder that this part of Kenya is intensively settled and farmed.

Koteā ko Kakamega
Kakamega is a place many people carry with them after moving to Nairobi or abroad. A map of home, of a school, or of the county a family comes from makes a quiet, personal piece for a living room or office.
Add a family name, a graduation year or a short phrase as the title, and adjust the subtitle and coordinates. Five styles are available, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as digital files or as a printed poster.
