Te mapa
Kamālshahr lies in Alborz Province on the western side of Karaj, and on a map the boundary between the two is hard to see. The city is part of a continuous urban area that has spread across the plain below the mountains, with residential blocks packed closely together and main roads cutting through them at intervals.
To the north the ground begins to climb toward the Alborz range, and the street pattern loosens as it meets the slopes. That transition, from tight blocks on flat ground to sparser lines on rising terrain, is the main natural feature of the map, and it gives the drawing a clear sense of direction even without a river or coastline.
A Kamālshahr map poster is a portrait of a young, fast-growing city at the edge of a larger metropolis. The print records the density of everyday neighbourhoods and the arteries that tie them to Karaj and onward toward Tehran, a very different picture from the historic centres that usually appear on posters.
The northern side of the city meets rising ground, where streets become fewer and follow the terrain, giving the top of the map a lighter, more open texture.
Most of the frame is filled with small, tightly spaced residential blocks, producing an even, fine-grained pattern that reads almost like fabric in black and white.
Main roads run east into Karaj without a visible break, showing how Kamālshahr sits within a single continuous urban area on the plain.
