Kāndhla is a town in the Shamli district of western Uttar Pradesh, in the flat country between the Ganges and the Yamuna. From above it appears as a compact, dense core of lanes and houses, with roads spreading outward like spokes to the surrounding villages. Beyond the edge of town the land is almost entirely farmland, divided into small, irregular plots.
The area is agricultural, and sugarcane is one of the main crops of this part of the state. Market streets in the centre serve the villages around, and the town's shape reflects that role: a close-built commercial heart, older residential lanes wrapping around it, and newer building stretching along the main roads.
