Te mapa
Kédougou lies in the far southeast of Senegal, near the borders with Guinea and Mali. On a map it sits beside the Gambia River, which curves past the town in wide bends, while roads spread outward into a landscape of low hills and woodland. The street pattern is loose, with a denser centre and scattered neighbourhoods at the edges.
The town serves as the regional capital and as the gateway to the Bassari Country, whose landscapes and villages are listed by UNESCO, and to the Niokolo-Koba National Park to the northwest. The surrounding region is also known for gold mining, which has brought new roads and settlements to the area in recent years.
A Kédougou map poster draws on the contrast between river and land. The Gambia provides a strong curving line, the town a modest cluster of streets on its bank, and the rest of the frame stays open, hinting at the hills beyond. It is a quiet image of a place at the edge of the country.
The river sweeps past the town in broad curves, the most striking line on the map and the feature that anchors the settlement's position.
Roads leave Kédougou toward the Bassari Country, the national park and the borders, appearing as thin lines running out across open land.
Streets are dense near the centre and loosen at the edges, where neighbourhoods fade into surrounding bush and farmland.

Koteā ko Kédougou
Kédougou speaks to people from southeastern Senegal and to travellers who have passed through on the way to the Bassari Country or Niokolo-Koba. The river and open land give the print a relaxed, uncluttered look.
