Lake Oswego Map Poster & Print
Lake Oswego lies just south of Portland, and from above its shape is set by two bodies of water. Oswego Lake stretches east to west through the middle of the city, a long, narrow body lined almost entirely by homes and docks, while the Willamette River marks the eastern boundary. Streets bend around wooded hills and the lake shore rather than following a grid.
Before it became a residential city, the area had an iron industry. The Oregon Iron Company built a furnace here in 1867, the first on the Pacific coast, and its stone remains still stand in a riverside park. The small downtown sits between the lake's eastern end and the river.
