Te mapa
Longmont lies on the plains of northern Colorado, a short way east of the Front Range foothills. It was founded in 1871 as the Chicago-Colorado Colony and named after Longs Peak, which can be seen on the western horizon. On a map the original town is a tidy grid of numbered streets and named avenues, laid out by its planners and continued as the city grew.
St. Vrain Creek runs along the southern side of the city, and a greenway with trails follows it through town. Irrigation ditches and small reservoirs are spread across the surrounding land, remnants of the farming colony. A Longmont map poster shows these water lines winding through the otherwise strict street grid.
Later neighbourhoods at the edges switch to curving streets and cul-de-sacs, and newer business parks sit along the highways. Farmland and open space still border much of the city. From above, Longmont reads as a planned plains town facing the mountains, with the creek, ditches and reservoirs adding softer curves to a mostly straight layout.
The historic centre follows the original 1871 plan: an even grid of streets and avenues that forms the orderly core of the map.
St. Vrain Creek curves along the south side of the city, with trails and parkland following its course in a green ribbon.
Irrigation channels and small lakes left from the farming era cross the outskirts, adding thin, curving lines and scattered pools.

Koteā ko Longmont
Longmont has the straight grid of a planned town, with mountains to the west and creeks running through it. The map suits anyone who has made a home on the Front Range or grown up here.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a street, a name or a year, and edit the coordinates. Blueprint highlights the colony plan, and Noir makes the waterways stand out.
