Louth Map Poster & Print

Louth is a market town in Lincolnshire, on the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds where the hills descend toward the coastal marsh. Its best-known landmark is St James' Church, whose spire is the tallest of any medieval parish church in England. The Greenwich Meridian also passes through the town.

On a map, Louth has the tight, irregular centre typical of an English market town, with streets converging on the market place and the church. The River Lud runs through it, and to the east the Louth Navigation, an eighteenth-century canal, heads toward the coast. Beyond the centre, residential streets spread out and roads lead into the Wolds.

A Louth map poster shows the old market-town core, the thin line of the river and the start of the canal, all in one frame. It is a composition with a clear historic heart, set within the gentle countryside of eastern Lincolnshire.
