Te mapa
Lubero is a town in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, set in the highlands west of the Albertine Rift. It sits at a considerable altitude, and the surrounding landscape is one of steep ridges, deep valleys and cultivated slopes. From above, the town follows the lie of the land, with streets and paths bending around the hills rather than forming a grid.
The main road through the region passes through Lubero, linking it with other towns of North Kivu, and this road is the backbone of the map. Around it, the built-up area gives way to small fields and plots that cover the hillsides. The cool highland climate supports farming, and the patchwork of cultivation is visible across the slopes.
A Lubero map poster renders this mountainous setting with fine, curving lines. The main road forms a clear thread, and the surrounding paths and settlements create a delicate web across the ridges. In black and white, the map has an almost hand-drawn quality, suited to anyone with a personal connection to this part of eastern Congo.
The town stands at altitude in the hills west of the Albertine Rift, and the terrain shapes almost every line on the map.
The regional road running through Lubero is the clearest feature, a single winding line connecting the town with the rest of North Kivu.
Around the town, small fields and plots cover the hillsides, forming an irregular patchwork across the ridges and valleys.

Koteā ko Lubero
For people from Lubero, and for those who have lived or worked in the highlands of North Kivu, a map of the town is a way of keeping its hills and roads in view. It is calm and personal rather than decorative for its own sake.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a place of origin. Choose between five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper gives the curving roads a soft, drawn feel.
