Te mapa
Maissau sits on the eastern rim of the Manhartsberg, the ridge that divides the Waldviertel from the Weinviertel in Lower Austria. From above, the change in landscape is easy to read. Forested high ground lies to the west, a patchwork of fields and vineyard strips opens to the east, and a compact town centre gathers along the roads that meet below the slope.
The municipality covers around 43 square kilometres, so most of the frame is countryside rather than streets. Scattered villages, farm tracks and field boundaries give the map a fine, irregular texture, and the main town appears as a dense knot of lines. A Maissau map poster shows that balance between a small settlement and the land that surrounds and supports it.
Beyond the region, the town is best known for its amethyst. A vein of the violet quartz runs through the ground nearby and is shown to visitors at the Amethyst Welt, one of the better-known mineral attractions in Austria. A castle stands above the town, and the old centre keeps the modest proportions of a market town rather than a city.
The western part of the map rises into the wooded Manhartsberg, where roads thin out and curve with the terrain. They contrast clearly with the straighter lines of the farmland further east.
The historic centre is small and tightly drawn, a single dense cluster of streets and building blocks set within a much wider frame of fields, tracks and village roads.
East of the town the land flattens into long agricultural parcels and vineyard rows. On a poster these appear as fine parallel lines and field edges that give the eastern side a quiet, regular rhythm.

Koteā ko Maissau
A map of Maissau suits someone with a personal tie to the town, whether through family roots, a house in the area or memories of the Weinviertel. It is a restrained piece that works in a hallway or study and does not rely on a famous skyline.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a name or a date that matters. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 HD files cover six print sizes, or you can order a framed print.
