Te mapa
McDonough is the seat of Henry County, about thirty miles south of downtown Atlanta. The town was laid out in the 1820s around a central square, and that square is still its clear focal point on a map: a small rectangle of historic storefronts, with roads leading out in each direction toward land that was once farms and is now largely subdivisions.
The town is named after Thomas Macdonough, the naval commander who won the Battle of Lake Champlain in the War of 1812. Today McDonough sits along Interstate 75, and much of its recent growth has followed that corridor, with shopping centers, distribution sites and new residential neighbourhoods forming around the highway interchanges.
A McDonough map poster shows two layers of the same place: the compact, gridded core around the square and the curving cul-de-sacs and wide arterial roads of the modern suburbs. The interstate cuts a long diagonal through the design, and small lakes and creeks scattered through the county add softer shapes between the streets.
The town square sits at the center of the original plan, with short blocks around it forming the most regular part of the street network.
The interstate runs along the western side of town on its route between Atlanta and Macon, a strong line that anchors the modern growth around it.
Newer neighbourhoods form loops and cul-de-sacs around the older grid, giving the outer map a softer, more organic pattern typical of metro Atlanta growth.

Koteā ko McDonough
McDonough is a common first home for families moving to the Atlanta area, and a map poster marks that step well: the neighbourhood, the drive to the square, the town where the children started school. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming gift.
Put a family name and move-in date in the title and subtitle, edit the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD package includes each of six sizes as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
