Te mapa
Mhow lies on the Malwa plateau southwest of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, close to where the land begins to fall toward the Vindhya hills. From above, the town divides into two clear textures: the spacious cantonment with its long straight roads, large compounds and open grounds, and the tighter civilian town with shops and closely built houses.
The cantonment dates from the British period and still hosts major Indian Army training institutions, which is why so much of the map is given over to broad avenues, parade grounds and green space. A Mhow map poster shows this contrast clearly, generous open blocks on one side and dense, fine-grained streets on the other.
Mhow is the birthplace of B. R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of India's constitution, and the town's official name is now Dr. Ambedkar Nagar in his honour. Its elevated position gives it a milder climate than much of central India, and wooded hills rise to the south.
Straight, tree-lined roads and large institutional compounds cover much of the town, creating an open and orderly pattern typical of Indian military stations.
The civilian quarter is densely built with narrower streets, a busy counterpoint to the cantonment's spacious plan and a rich area of detail on the print.
Mhow sits on raised tableland, with hills and valleys to the south. The surrounding roads and ridges frame the town within a gently varied landscape.

Koteā ko Mhow
Many people have served, trained or grown up in Mhow, and a map of the cantonment is a lasting keepsake of those years. Others hang it in recognition of Ambedkar's birthplace.
