Noci stands on the Murge plateau in the province of Bari, in the part of Apulia known for its trulli, the conical-roofed stone buildings of the Itria area. From above, the historic centre forms a compact, rounded cluster of narrow lanes, with later streets spreading outward in a more regular arrangement.
The countryside around Noci is one of the most distinctive parts of the map. Dry-stone walls divide the land into small irregular fields, and farmhouses, masserie and trulli are dotted across it, connected by a fine web of country lanes. The town lies not far from Alberobello, the best known trulli town.
