Te mapa
North Creek lies in southern Snohomish County, Washington, near Bothell and Mill Creek, in the belt of suburbs that grew along the I-405 corridor north of Seattle. From above it looks nothing like a grid. Residential streets curl into loops and cul-de-sacs around forested ravines, following ground that rises and falls constantly.
The creek it is named after runs south through the area toward the Sammamish River. Its valley forms a green, lower corridor through the neighbourhoods, and business parks and a university campus have grown along it. The wooded hollows on either side stay mostly unbuilt, which leaves distinct gaps in the street pattern.
A North Creek map poster shows this Pacific Northwest suburban pattern at its most characteristic. Branching streets end in rounded dead ends, the highway sweeps through on long curves, and the dark-green lines of the creek and its gullies divide everything into separate pockets.
Residential streets branch and end in rounded turnarounds. On the poster they form a feathery, organic pattern that is very different from the grid of older American towns.
North Creek's valley runs south through the area as a lower, greener strip. Offices and a university campus line it, and the wooded slopes on either side stay undeveloped.
The interstate cuts across the area in wide, smooth curves. It is the strongest line on the map, and its interchanges connect the scattered neighbourhoods.

Koteā ko North Creek
North Creek is where many people bought their first home, raised children, or started a job in the tech corridor. A map of it records the exact street where that happened, which a skyline image never could.
