Parker lies in Douglas County, southeast of Denver, on the high plains near the Front Range. Cherry Creek runs north through the town, and on the map it forms a green corridor of trails and open space that divides the street network into eastern and western sides.
Most of Parker is suburban, built from the late twentieth century onward, and the map shows it clearly: curving streets, cul-de-sacs and loops arranged in neighbourhood clusters, linked by a handful of straight arterial roads. E-470 crosses the northern edge of town, and Parker Road follows the creek toward Denver.
