Te mapa
Port Moody sits at the head of the Port Moody Arm, the eastern tip of Burrard Inlet, in Metro Vancouver. From above, the inlet is a long, narrow finger of water pointing into the city, with neighbourhoods lining its north and south shores and steep forested hillsides climbing behind them. The street network follows the slopes, curving into cul-de-sacs and switchbacks rather than forming a regular grid.
The town was chosen as the first western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway, and the first transcontinental passenger train arrived here in 1886 before the line was extended to Vancouver. Today Port Moody calls itself the City of the Arts, and its waterfront parks and shoreline trail around the head of the inlet are among its best-known public spaces.
A Port Moody map poster is dominated by the inlet, which cuts into the frame like a blade and leaves the streets arranged neatly on either side. Rail lines follow the southern shore, and the hills create dense, winding patterns that fade into open forest at the edges. It is a very legible map, easy to recognise at a glance.
The narrow end of Burrard Inlet reaches deep into the city, a slim tongue of water that splits the map and sets its orientation.
Parks and a walking trail wrap around the head of the inlet, forming an open margin between the water and the town centre.
On both sides of the inlet, residential streets bend along the contours of the slopes, drawing loops and curves that contrast with the straight rail line below.

Koteā ko Port Moody
For people who live on the inlet, or who moved away from the Tri-Cities, the shape of the water is instantly familiar. A minimalist map turns that shape into something calm and architectural, well suited to a living room or office overlooking a very different view.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps the year you moved in or a street you lived on, and keep the coordinates line for precision. Pick from five styles, then download print-ready files in six sizes for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
