Te mapa
Rāmganj Mandi is in Kota district in the Hadoti region of southeastern Rajasthan. As the word mandi suggests, it is a market town. It is one of India's major trading centres for coriander, and harvests from across the region pass through its wholesale yards. The town has grown around this trade and the railway that serves it.
The area is also known for Kota stone, the hard limestone widely used for flooring across India. Quarries and cutting yards surround the town, and from above they appear as angular pits and cleared rectangles in the landscape. The flat plain around them is used for farming.
A Rāmganj Mandi map poster combines three textures. There is the tight street pattern of the bazaar, the straight line of the railway, and the geometric scars of the quarries. Together they make a map that shows how the town earns its living, rendered in clean black and white.
The mandi district and the dense streets around it form the commercial heart of the town, where the regional coriander trade is concentrated.
Quarry pits and stone yards around the town appear as sharp-edged blocks and cleared areas, a distinctly industrial mark on the map.
The rail line crosses the town as a long straight stroke, linking the market to wider networks and dividing the street pattern.
