Rheinstetten Map Poster & Print
Rheinstetten was formed in 1975 from three villages: Forchheim, Mörsch and Neuburgweier. Their separate origins still show on the map. Each village kept its own core of older streets, and newer neighbourhoods fill the gaps between them. The whole town lies on the flat Upper Rhine plain just south-west of Karlsruhe, so its layout comes from history and roads more than from terrain.
To the west, the land turns into the Rhine floodplain: woodland, old river arms, gravel ponds and dykes, with the Rhine itself flowing past Neuburgweier. In Forchheim, the grounds of a former airfield are now home to the Messe Karlsruhe exhibition centre. Its large halls and wide paved spaces are easy to pick out on the map.
