Te mapa
Saint-Jérôme lies northwest of Montreal, where the St. Lawrence lowlands meet the first ridges of the Laurentian Mountains. The Rivière du Nord runs through the city, and the historic downtown sits close to its banks. A cathedral and a public square stand near the centre, and the older streets are organised around them.
In the nineteenth century, the parish priest Antoine Labelle made Saint-Jérôme the starting point for settling the Laurentians and pushed for a railway to the north. That line is now the P'tit Train du Nord, a long trail for cycling and cross-country skiing that begins in the city. On a map its gentle, continuous curve heads north out of town.
A Saint-Jérôme map poster shows how the city has grown outward from its riverside core. Autoroute 15 runs past the city toward the Laurentians, and newer districts spread across the lowland in the winding crescents typical of Quebec suburbs. To the north the land begins to rise, and the streets thin toward forest and lakes.
The old centre sits close to the Rivière du Nord. The river's winding course gives the densest part of the poster a natural, curving edge.
The former railway, now a long recreational trail, leaves the city in a smooth arc. It is one of the most graceful lines on the map.
To the north, rising ground and scattered lakes take over from the suburban streets. The top of the frame becomes open and varied.

Koteā ko Saint-Jérôme
Saint-Jérôme is a place people pass through on the way north, and also one they call home. A map of it suits either story. The title and subtitle can be written in French or English, with a date or a name, and the coordinates line is optional.
Blueprint and Noir look sharp against the river and trail, and Paper, Sand and Classic black & white give quieter results. Order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame, or download the $9 files to print at home.
