Te mapa
Saint-Lazare lies in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region of Quebec, off the island of Montreal to the west. From above, it looks nothing like a traditional town grid. Its streets curve, loop and end in cul-de-sacs, arranged in neighbourhoods that sit among stretches of woodland, so the map shows clusters of winding lines separated by open or forested ground.
A few longer roads cross the municipality and connect these neighbourhoods to one another and to the highways leading toward Montreal. Between them, the street pattern becomes almost organic, with crescents and bends that respond to the land and to the way the area developed over time, gradually turning rural lots into residential areas.
Saint-Lazare has long been associated with horses, and equestrian properties and trails are still part of its identity. A Saint-Lazare map poster reflects that semi-rural character: a suburb of curving streets set into a green landscape rather than a dense town, with plenty of space between its lines.
Crescents and cul-de-sacs give residential areas a soft, curling texture, quite different from the straight grids found in older Quebec towns.
Stretches of forest and open land separate the neighbourhoods, leaving blank areas on the map that make the street clusters stand out.
A handful of longer routes link the scattered neighbourhoods and lead toward the wider Montreal region, acting as the map's main structure.
